Paris, France – December 1, 2025 – Eviden, the Atos Group product brand leading in advanced computing, cybersecurity products, mission-critical systems and vision AI today announces that its cryptovision ePasslet Suite FIDO2 application, in combination with Infineon’s SECORA™ ID V2 platform, has become the world’s first product to receive the FIDO Alliance’s FIDO CTAP2.1 Authenticator Level 3+ certification. This achievement marks a significant milestone in secure user authentication and digital security, as the cryptovision ePasslet Suite together with SECORA™ ID V2 is the first FIDO2 authentication solution to reach the highest certification Level.
Level 3+ provides the highest security tier for authenticators and protects against sophisticated software and hardware attacks. Obtaining this certification requires robust protection mechanisms at the chip and software level, making the extraction of private keys or physical tampering of devices exceedingly difficult. Level 3+-certified hardware tokens offer strong resistance against tampering, side-channel attacks, and phishing, ensuring that private keys remain protected even if endpoint systems are compromised.
The certification highlights the outstanding performance of Eviden’s cryptovision ePasslet Suite framework and Infineon’s SECORA™ ID V2 platform, confirming the joint solution’s compliance with the most stringent security standards. It enables the use of advanced FIDO2 functionalities in various electronic identity documents, such as electronic ID cards or driver’s licenses, as well as in corporate badges and authentication solutions like FIDO security keys. Through this exceptional collaboration, Eviden and Infineon set a strong benchmark for secure and user-friendly digital identities.
“By integrating a Level 3+ certified FIDO authenticator solution into our Common Criteria EAL 5+ evaluated cryptovision ePasslet Suite – based on the SECORA™ ID V2 platform – we further strengthen our customers’ position as market pioneers. This enables them to combine the highest security standards with a highly user-friendly authentication experience,” explains Benjamin Drisch, Head of Citizen ID at Eviden, Atos Group.
At this year’s SDW Virtual, cryptovision presents its ePasslet Suite V3 on SECORA™ ID X, the new Java Card™ platform from Infineon. With the help of ePasslet Suite, users of SECORA™ ID X will be able to put numerous eID functions into practice easily and flexibly. A presentation will be displayed in the SDW Virtual “Technology Showcase” section.
Cryptovision’s ePasslet Suite on SECORA™ ID X provides applets for various eID document applications, including electronic passports, eIDAS-compliant ID and signature cards, international electronic driver’s licenses, electronic health cards (eHIC), custom national eID cards and more. ePasslet Suite V3 also supports ICAO LDS 2.0, an extension of electronic passports with electronic visas and entry and exit stamps.
In addition, ePasslet Suite on SECORA™ ID X can be freely customized through various configuration options. It can evolve to support new use cases and applications while retaining Common Criteria (CC) certification, thereby enabling multi-application cards and documents.
“We are delighted to have reached a further milestone on our path to offer modular, standard-based eID solutions on all major chip platforms. Government customers across the world will benefit from this broadened portfolio,” states cryptovision’s CEO Markus Hoffmeister.
ePasslet Suite on SECORA™ ID X is being certified according to Common Criteria (CC) EAL 5+. It is available in three editions, offering cost-efficient configurations for standard as well as high-end and customized ID document solutions. Samples of the solution are now available on request.
With Infineon’s SECORA™ ID X as additional platform for ePasslet Suite, cryptovision extends its offering for international eID customers: Infineon’s expertise is based on more than 200 government ID projects that cover more than 75 percent of the world’s population.
ePasslet Suite v3 – cryptovision’s Java card framework for electronic ID documents – will be available in 2020 on SECORA™ ID, Infineon’s new Java card operating system. Using ePasslet Suite, users of SECORA™ ID can easily and flexibly implement numerous eID functions. SECORA™ ID is the newest member of Infineon’s established SECORA family. SECORA™ ID is a smart card operating system based on the widely used Java Card standard. It was specifically developed as a platform for electronic ID cards.
SECORA™ ID is being certified according to Common Criteria EAL 6+ and EMVCo. In addition to Infineon’s in-house applet collection, SECORA™ ID also supports the proven ePasslet Suite by cryptovision. This solution considerably expands the functionality of SECORA™ ID by offering about a dozen additional applications. All common eID documents can be implemented this way, with a wide variety of configuration options as well as adaptations to national and project-specific requirements being possible – including electronic identity documents with several applications. The functionality includes the addition of applications on documents already issued. Cryptovision’s managing director Markus Hoffmeister: “We are delighted that Infineon customers can now use our suite on this new platform. The partnership with Infineon is another important milestone on our successful path in the eID market”. With Infineon’s SECORA™ ID as additional platform for ePasslet Suite, cryptovision gains access to another huge market: 70 percent of the worldwide population use identification documents based on Infineon’s security chips.
