From transport security to content security
Transport encryption and domain protection are standard today. SPF, DKIM, and DMARC protect the sender’s identity, while MTA-STS and DANE secure the TLS connection. Email gateways also encrypt information securely during transmission. However, despite these mechanisms, content in mailboxes, archives, and backups often remains unprotected.
