TSE solution by experts
A TSE (Technical Security Device) is a hardware module integrated into electronic cash registers, taximeters and similar devices. Its main function is the secure recording of cash transactions and the prvision of this data to the tax authorities.
The term “TSE” originates from the German KassenSichV, which prescribes the complete, unaltered and tamper-proof documentation of business transactions to prevent tax evasion.
TSE devices must be certified to meet the requirements of the KassenSichV.
TR-03153
Cryptovision TSE v2.1 complies with the BSI’s TR-03153 standard and German fiscalization regulations. It uses a Cryptographic Service Provider (CSP) for cryptographic functions. The user interface is robust and user-friendly. In accordance with TR-03153, TSE v2.1 electronically records transactions and digitally signs them for use in cash register audits by the tax authorities.
Certified Security
Cryptovision TSE v2.1 is certified by the BSI according to TR-03153 (process ID BSI-K-TR-0591-2024) and represents the highest security standards.
Product Architecture
Cryptovision TSE v2.1 is based on a μSD (microSD) card with interfaces to PC or smartphone software as well as financial management systems. SD and USB interfaces are supported via adapters.

Cryptovision TSE has proven itself in numerous retail and hospitality businesses across Germany, reliably meeting all requirements of the German KssenSichV. The first generation of cryptovision TSE was developed in close partnership with a trust center operator and marketed exclusively as a hardware-based solution in microSD format.
With the introduction of the second generation of cryptovision TSE, signifcant hardware improvements have been implemented. It also meets new requirements of the German Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI). Since the integration of cryptovision into the Eviden family (an Atos company) in September 2021, TSE has become an integral part of the group’s digital security portfolio. The new version, TSE v2.1, is now available and is delivered with digital certificates from Eviden.
