At the end of every year, the Asia Pacific Smart Card Alliance (APSCA) awards several prizes for outstanding achievements in the field of identity and payments known as the Radiant Awards. Much like the Oscars, Radiant Awards recognize innovations in several different categories, which include Vision, Service, and Launch. The 2018 Radiant Awards ceremony was held at the AVANI Riverside Bangkok Hotel last month. This year’s jury selected both the Electronic Passport System and the Biometric eGates projects of the Maldives as winners in the Launch Category. cryptovision’s chip card applet technology is used as an integral component of the polycarbonate electronic passport delivered by our partner Dermalog, along with their innovative solution for biometric eGates. cryptovision is proud to have contributed to these projects which make the Maldives the first country in South Asia to introduce a biometric ePassport and eGate services.
