Cryptographic Libraries

The cryptographic libraries by cryptovision are specially designed to meet the differing requirements of our customer groups. The implementation of cryptographic algorithms in different modules and their integration is one of cryptovision’s main strengths. We gained years of experience in chip card implementation, working together with customers such as Siemens AG, Sagem Orga, Austria Card and the BSI (German Federal Office for Information Security). Smart cards incorporating cryptographic libraries by cryptovision have achieved certification many times. The expertise gained here was successfully applied to our solutions for embedded systems and PC software.

Security in Windows and Linux Environments

We developed cv act library/pc to secure applications in the Windows and Linux environments. The cv act library/pc serves as the foundation technology for the complete cryptovision PC security software range. Whether email encryption, smart card middleware or PKI systems, cv act library/pc delivers all the necessary mathematical methods to achieve PC applications security. The cryptographic libraries can be customized for specific requirements.

Smart cards and Security ICs

In the banking world, the security of smart cards has the highest of priority. The introduction of health insurance card also saw an increase in the importance of protection of the data stored on chip cards. Leading chip card manufacturers rely on the innovative and efficient cv act library/sc for the protection of their card operating systems. Based on a chip-independent framework, the library can be rapidly ported to any desired platform. A uniform interface for all processors simplifies the implementation for the card manufacturers, thereby saving both time and money.

Embedded Systems

Embedded systems rank as the mainspring for innovation in many industries and are of strategic significance for the advancement of products and services. The PTB (German national metrology institute) insists on the use of digital signatures to guarantee the authenticity of electronically transferred measurement data in the energy industry. In the automobile industry cv act library/es secures the flash process of engine control units (ECUs) and guarantees protection of the integrity of on-board electronics. Chip Design

In some embedded applications, it is not possible to achieve the necessary level of security - especially against non-cryptographic attacks - solely by a software solution. In addition, the performance of many typical embedded processors sets limits on their efficiency, thereby restricting the choices of feasible cryptographic methods. For such applications, with cv act library/VHDL cryptovision offers optimized VHDL designs for the FPGA realization of cryptographic methods. The corresponding FPGAs can be used for prototypes and special applications as well as a basis for semi-custom or full-custom design ASICs.

The cryptographic libraries by cryptovision have been evaluated and certified in many different applications against formal security standards. The certificates awarding ITSEC "E4/high" and Common Criteria "EAL 4+" provide proof positive of the high technical accomplishments of the development.
